Dental health insurance
Dental health insurance is no longer a rarity,
it is usually offered along your standard health insurance plan, be it individual
or for your entire family! Whether you employ the service of a US or German health insurance, there are more than good chances you will have access to dental insurance as well.
Why is it better to have such insurance? Well you can have an analogy
with car insurance, you don't need it until you have an accident, so why pay
all the time? Because it is still cheaper for you to pay for years in a row your
insurance than to have to repair your car once! This also goes with your teeth
provided we have 32 of them and that there's a possibility for at least one
to become "sick", i.e. to have caries.
If you opt for such a dental
health insurance plan you will be scheduled for regular appointments with your
dentist. It is much cheaper to prevent or treat a small decay in your tooth than
to have to undergo even a small surgery for removing one or more teeth.
There
are medical reasons to have periodical check ups with your dentist. There
are certain medical conditions, sometimes infections or muscle asthenia, or
even destruction of the jaw bone itself caused by the spreading of a simple caries.
Most
people are scared by the dentist, but modern techniques minimise
pain on minor interventions as well, anyway you will be more comfortable knowing
you only have to stay 20 minutes in that chair and not half the day.....
